Gessi 44673 Built-In Body for 2-Way Wall-Mounted Shower Mixer

The Gessi 44673 built-in body is the wall-recessed component required for Gessi 2-way wall-mounted shower mixers with automatic single-lever diverter to function. It is the hidden technical part, installed before tiling, that manages the water connection and wall fixing of the mixer, designed to be paired with the visible exterior part (plate, lever and diverter) chosen from the numerous compatible Gessi collections.

The 44673 built-in body features 4 G1/2" connections (hot water, cold water and two mixed water outlets) and an adjustable installation depth from 72 to 92 mm, to suit different wall and cladding thicknesses. EN-817 certified and produced under an ISO 9001:2015 quality system, it is the hidden yet essential complement to numerous Gessi shower mixers across different collections, officially confirmed for use with the exterior parts listed below.

Important technical note: this item is the built-in body (concealed part) of the 2-way system and does not include the visible exterior part (plate, lever, diverter), which must be selected and ordered separately. It also does not include the mixing cartridge, which must be ordered separately before installation. All components must be combined for the mixer to function correctly.

Technical installation guidelines:

To ensure correct operation and maximum lifespan of the Gessi 44673 built-in body, please follow these guidelines:

• Maximum working pressure: 5 bar — if pressure exceeds this value, install a pressure reducer
• Optimal working pressure: 3 bar
• For optimal operation, hot and cold water inlet pressures must be balanced, with a maximum difference of 0.5 bar
• Maximum mains water temperature: 70 °C, for short periods of use only
• Filter: installing an inline filter is recommended to ensure long product life and full functionality
• Pre-installation checks: thoroughly flush the water supply pipes before installation, to prevent debris from damaging the built-in body's gaskets
• Compatible cladding thickness: 20 to 40 mm

Installation guidance:

• Check the actual built-in depth (MIN 72 mm / MAX 92 mm) before cutting the wall recess. Compatible cladding thickness is 20-40 mm
• The body must be positioned so that its front face is flush with the finished cladding surface
• Use the closing plug (C) to seal the unused outlet when operating in single-outlet mode
• Outlet configuration: the 44673 body supports two operating configurations (see installation booklet GIS427240):
  • PULL: pulling the handshower activates outlet 1 (top = primary); outlet 2 (bottom) is secondary
  • PUSH: configuration is reversed — outlet 2 (top) becomes primary, outlet 1 (bottom) becomes secondary
• Out-of-range walls: if the built-in depth falls outside the standard limits (72-92 mm), order the appropriate extension kit: L1 for delta 9 to -16 mm / L2 for delta -16 to -41 mm
• For installation on plasterboard walls: maintain a minimum depth of 250 mm from the surface (see fig. 6, installation booklet GIS427240)
